Our third stay in Tornaroan cottage and hopefully we will be there again. Have stayed in many self catering places but this was by far the best. Joanne and Martin put so much thought and care into what they provide for their guests. Home made shortbread and beautiful flowers welcome you when you arrive as well as other basics. The cottage is spotless.. The views of Rathlin amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our break .
Thank you so much Muriel and Murray for writing such a lovely review, it was a pleasure to meet you both and hopefully will do again. All the best Joanne and Martin
We spent five nights in the cottage in July 2024 and appreciated the location, view, comforts and the little extras provided, especially the flowers. The view is superb. A great base for exploring this area of the coast. It was cool in the evenings so we enjoyed a small fire in the stove - worth it just to catch that magical aroma of peat smoke outside in the garden.
Thank you so much for writing a great review for our cottage and we're pleased that you enjoyed your stay, we try to make every guest feel at home and have a memorable visit to the Causeway Coast.Kind regardsJoanne
We stayed here in July 2023 (I’m rubbish at getting around to writing reviews!), & were blown away by the cottage inside, & out. In addition, the splendid views over to Rathlin Island were breathtaking. The cottage is down a quiet lane, on the outskirts of Ballycastle town centre, adjacent to farm fields, & a few other properties. We couldn’t fault anything inside the cottage (it was exceptionally clean throughout) - the living room is small, but plenty big enough for the three of us; the only thing I would mention, is that the mattresses on the single beds could do to be plumper, but it’s a minor niggle, & does not warrant the loss of any stars! It proved to be the perfect base for visiting all of the tourist attractions e.g. Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, The Dark Hedges, Rathlin Island, Glenariff Forest Park… It’s also only an hour’s drive to Belfast, which we did to visit the Titanic Museum. Our host, Joanne was fantastic - very informative about both the journey to and from the ferry port, and about the local attractions, including traffic updates! There was also a generous welcome package, including free range eggs! We had a fantastic time, & would love to return in the future!
Hi Lisa, thank you so much for writing such a great review, it's better late than never and it's much appreciated! Great that you enjoyed yourselves and managed to see so much of the local area- we are still finding new places to visit like the hidden village of Galboly, Melville Garden Village at Cherry Blossom time and the wonderful Sperrins all near Tornaroan Cottage. We have got memory foam mattresses on the single beds now which can feel a bit firm at first but hopefully give good support. We look forward to welcoming you back to Northern Ireland and the beautiful Causeway Coast. All the best Joanne
We had the most wonderful stay at Tornaroan Cottage. The cottage is so comfortable, spotlessly clean and Joanne and Martin have thought of everything.
The view is spectacular and the location superb for accessing the beautiful North Coast. We took Joanne's recommendation for dinner in Ballycastle, (The Cellar) and had a wonderful meal.
Thank you both, we will definitely be returning to your beautiful cottage.
That’s great that you had such a lovely time Alison and even better if you want to come back- we’re not that far away and it’ll be lovely to host you again. All the best,Joanne and Martin
This cottage is the perfect place to put the fire on and get cozy on a wintry evening.
The view is spectacular and it is located very close to many must see locations.
We had an amazing week and would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for some rest and relaxation in a beautiful spot.

Thank you so much for your lovely review Heather and it was great to have you both stay with us again. Joanne and Martin
One of the most beautiful and calm places we’ve been to during our tour in Northern Ireland. The cottage was super clean and cozy, there is a lovely view on to the shore. The hosts are very kind. Upon request we got a nice lunch box for a ur continued hike.
Thank you so much Nicolás and Jasmin for leaving a great review after enjoying your short stay at Tornaroan Cottage- we hope you will come back again to see a bit more of the beautiful Causeway Coast. Happy hiking, Joanne and Martin
Fantastic host, beautiful location, perfect romantic break away in a traditional cottage with best accommodation and views only a quick walk to the sea the beach the pub. Highly recommend this as an escape a rest a vacation
Thanks Tony for taking the time to write a review and it looks like you had a great time at the cottage. Looking forward to hosting you both again. All the best, Joanne
We stayed at Tornaroan Cottage for 4 nights at the end of August and could easily have stayed longer. It was a very busy time in Ballycastle itself as the Lammas Fair was on but the situation of the cottage meant we were away from the hustle and bustle of the town but close enough to still walk down the lane and along the beach to it. We only did this once as there was so much to see and experience from the cottage. It was a beautiful day when we arrived on the ferry in Belfast and we took the Causeway Coast Road to it. The drive was amazing!! When we arrived at the cottage it was everything we could have wanted. Clean comfortable with many homely touches. The views across to Rathlin Island were just so lovely. I can't recommend a stay at Tornaroan enough. Thank you for the Prosecco and the extras, milk eggs etc you left out for us.
Thank you for your lovely review Bernadette and I’m so glad that you liked the cottage and your stay in Ballycastle. The Ould Lammas Fair is the oldest fair in Ireland a unique event in Northern Ireland and hugely busy in Ballycastle so it was nice that you were able to experience it yet also see the quieter side at the cottage. Hope to host you again when you visit Ireland again, all the best, Joanne
Our stay at Tornaroan could not have been more lovely. We were welcomed graciously by our hosts, who had taken great care with the cleanliness and appointment of the cottage. The rooms were comfortable and afforded the quiet rest we were seeking on holiday. We enjoyed evening meals in the garden overlooking the sea and the neighboring farmer's sheep. We walked nearby seacoast trails and enjoyed a day's outing to Rathlin for seabird watching. Being outside the bustle of downtown Ballycastle gave us access to the shops and pubs when we wanted them. In short, a perfect place to enjoy the north coast.
Thank you so much for your review Amy, it was a real pleasure to meet and chat with you and your husband. It's lovely that you experienced the peace and quiet of Tornaroan Cottage; enjoyed sitting in the garden appreciating the views and were able to visit lots of places whilst here; hope to see you again one day.
