Offering plenty of room for 4 people in lovely comfortable rooms this beautiful holiday cottage is in the country but close to Ballycastle and has a large lounge with a feature fireplace and a wood burning stove. This is the perfect place to unwind and relax and ideal for snuggling up in front of to read a book, watch the TV or a DVD and high-speed internet is provided free. The cottage has a starter basket of logs, a basket of peat, kindling and firelighters included in the rental (extra can be bought at the cottage if required).

Tradition matters in Ireland and in many areas the blanket bog has been traditionally cut for turf. Cutting turf, or peat, for family fires is a centuries old tradition in Ireland where turbary ( or the right of private individuals to cut turf for domestic use) has been handed down from generation to generation. That tradition still exists in the Ballycastle area where burning turf is part of the culture and used on open fires and stoves giving a distinctive ‘peat reek’ or smell when burnt.

There is a spacious well equipped kitchen with table, chairs, dishwasher, washing machine, a Stanley range which centrally heats the house and a separate electric cooker. A corridor leads through to another separate sitting / dining area with patio doors opening directly into the garden where you can relax or enjoy a meal at the dining table whilst taking in the stunning sea views and the famous landmarks of Rathlin Island and Fairhead.

There are 2 bedrooms, the main bedroom has a king size bed (200cm x 150cm or 6.6ft x 5ft) and the second bedroom can be arranged with a single bed or twin beds (full size beds, each 190cm x 90cm or 6.3ft x 3ft). They’re all made up with 100% cotton sheets, duvets or woollen blankets and plenty of towels.

Lounge

The holiday cottage has 2 bathrooms both with toilets and showers (one being a wet room making it accessible for those with restricted mobility). Shampoo, body wash, hand wash and hairdryer are provided.

A large, enclosed lawn garden has plenty of seating and a picnic table from where you can appreciate our Irish cottage views and tranquillity. Parking for 2 cars inside the main gate in front of the cottage and a separate parking area for 1 car is located behind the cottage.
